About the Institution
INTRODUCTION : “Dr. Soney Lal Patel Shiksha Sansthan Trust”, registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 was established in the year 1995 with a mission to provide quality education to the young generation.
Dr. Soney Lal Patel Sr. Sec. School has been the brain child of the founder and patron, Dr. S.L.Patel, a great Educationist and philanthropist of U.P. Since its inception the school has never turned back to the foot marks left behind on the sands of time. It has blossomed into a well-set and systematically grown institution with the dedicated endeavors of competent staff members, led by experienced Heads. It has succeeded in maintaining a very high standard of teaching and learning.
Campus
The School is situated at Juhi, Hamirpur Road in the heart of the south of Kanpur City which is easily accessible. The majestic grandeur of the building is amply supported by aesthetically designed and well maintained gardens all around. The campus has an environment truly conductive to learning.
School Building
The School building is highly impressive with modern architectural design rising upto 3 storeys. It caters to the requirement of a fully developed 10+2 school. The spacious and cross ventilated classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, well- stocked library, air-conditioned computer laboratories (Junior+Senior), Art & Creative craft centre, infirmary, culture activities centre, audio visual room etc. are some of the salient features of the school building. The building is a foolproof construction with adequate safety measures.
Physical & Health Education
The school aims at an all-round development of the student’s personality. Therefore, proportionate emphasis is laid on the physical development of the student. The students take part in organised games as per their time-table. The wide range of sports/Games played at school’s main building & sports complex include basketball, volleyball, Cricket, Dodge Ball, Throw ball, Table tennis, Chess, Carrom, Long jump, High jump, Short put, Javelin Throw etc.
Value Education
The school places adequate emphasis on building student s character based on humanitarian values & good social habits. One such endeavor in this direction is the annual visit of school students to Orphanages & Charity Homes during Diwali. The culture, tradition & customs of India are often highlighted through teaching & other programmes organized in the school. The glory of demure East, the erudite South, the prosperous North & the glamorous West is often highlighted through various festivals celebrated in school to keep students embedded in their culture. By celebrating Independence Day, Republic Day & Gandhi Jayanti, Patriotic fervor is aroused in the students.
