The school offers many activities appropriate to the student’s age group. These augment the academic learning and develop an interest to pursue various skills and hobbies. Art, Music, Work Education, Societies, Sports, and Value Education are given an emphasis for holistic development of the students.
Music Society
The underplaying purpose is that each child will be encouraged to -
- Appreciate various forms of music
- Derive enjoyment from both planned and spontaneous musical participation
- Value each person’s contribution to a group musical experience
- Recognise melodies of familiar songs.
Dance Society
The underplaying purpose is that through body movement and dance each child will be encouraged to -
- Indentify ways for each part of the body to be used.
- Develop special awareness.
- Use face rhythmic movements in response to music.
- Dramatize or pantomime musical selections.
- Perform simple dance.
Drama Society
The underlying purpose is that through dramatic activities, e.g role playing and puppetry, each child will be encouraged to- -
- Use his/her experiences to act our possible problems and situations, regardless of social and physical limitations.
- Express ideas about the world and people in it.
- Use variety and fluency in speech.
- Use creativity and ingenuity.
- Work in groups and appreciate team work.
- Express imagination, emotion and increased self confidence.
Visual art & Creativity Craft Society
The underlying purpose is that each child will be encourged to -
- Appreciate various art forms
- Appreciate originality and the creative process
- Explore the use of various media. e.g. clay. plasticine. paint etc.
- Appreciate beauty in his/her environment.
- Perceive or design, dimension, colour and texture in art objects.
- Evaluate and discuss his/her own art and the art of his/her classmates.
English Debate & Elocution Society
The underplaying purpose is that each child will be encouraged to -
- Develop a progressive mind and good communication skills.
- Express his/her thoughts will eloguence and poise.
- Double his/her underlying self confidence.
- Respect the views and opinions of other fellow mates.
The underplaying purpose is that each child will be encouraged to -
- Keep Track of the latest developments around the globe.
- Improve his/her knowledge bank and become intellectually
- Widen his/her horizon of thought & analysis.
Computer Education
Computer is taught in our institution as a compulsory subject from class I onwards. It has now been included as an Elective subject in the Inter section as its importance has been highlighted in the present day and the days to come when every aspect of human life will be directly or indirectly connected to computers.
Physical & Health Education
The school aims at an all-round development of the student’s personality. Therefore, proportionate emphasis is laid on the physical development of the student. The students take part in organised games as per their time-table. The wide range of sports/Games played at school’s main building & sports complex include basketball, volleyball, Cricket, Dodge Ball, Throw ball, Table tennis, Chess, Carrom, Long jump, High jump, Short put, Javelin Throw etc.
Value Education
The school places adequate emphasis on building student’s character based on humanitarian values & good social habits. One such endeavour in this direction is the annual visit of school students to Orphanaces & Charity Homes during Diwali. The culture, tradition & customs of India are often highlighted through teaching & other programmes organized in the school. The glory of demure East, the erudite South, the prosperous North & the glamorous West is often highlighted through various festivals celebrated in school to keep students embedded in their culture. By celebrating Independence Day, Republic Day & Gandhi Jayanti, Patriotic fervour is aroused in the students.
Outward Bound School Activities
Students are sent for educational visits with teacher escorts regularly. Some such places visited include post offices, Parle-G biscuit factory, Fire stations, Bird sanctuary, Ganga Ghat, Water Park, Buddha Garden, Tanneries, Parag Dairy etc.
Our Middle School & Senior school students are encouraged to go for Trekking expeditions with teacher escorts to places like Kapkot, Pindari glacier, Shimla, Nainital etc.
